Today is Valentine’s Day, which i don't really care and it was snow storm in the north east on Valentine's day. I didn't go to work, sat in my home, after sending WFH ( Working from Home) email to group and watching the snow, it was ice rather snow that was getting dumped. We are fortunate to have only 1-2 inches snow and ice. Heard that people in Indiana and Ohio are sitting without power. Just imagine in this brutal cold weather, without power! I also thought about the 16th century Europeans who dared to conquer American continent once Columbus found it. Climatic conditions like this did not stop them in building country like US!

Decided to be frequent on blogs as I did around 2 years back. Let's wait and watch how frequent I am going to be. This time, learning from my experiences with blogs, decided not to have any specific subjects to write on, hence "mixed thoughts"

Okay now it seems all easy to keep blogging as I can write just about thing in the world !!!

Old wisom isn't it ? It was my fault and I am glad that I realized it now. I contained myself to write on a particular subject and produced not a single post. Now that I have no restrictions I think I am definitely going break my own record of 0 (zero) posts I set in my last blog. Don't bother google, looking for my old old, it's no more, I just deleted it. So does that mean that freedom makes people more creative. I think so. Otherwise why most of the break thorughs in what ever domains happened in USA. Wait a minute, inventions happened in communist Sovient Union also, isn't it. Still I think so.

"Freedom is essential for creativiy"
Following news was published in Hindu march 2006 and i think after every railway budget you can see such a report in one of the newspapers read in kerala. British started the work for thalassery - mysore rail link and abandoned because of world war and 60 years after independance people are still doing sureys after surveys.

You must be think why I am writting about this. Only reason is that I am tired of the bus journies from my hometown to bangalore which I am doing for the past 6-7 years.

Above mentioned newsBelow :)

Minister urged to earmark funds for railway project

Action council to stage dharna in New Delhi
Action council alleges `bus/truck lobby' is against the proposed project
MPs from Mysore and Mangalore to support the agitation
Says the Thalassery-Mysore railway line was announced 50 years ago
KANNUR: The Thalassery-Mysore Railway Line Action Council will stage a dharna outside Parliament on March 14 in protest against what it calls the breach of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad's promise of budgetary allocation for the proposed railway line.
"The action council has been demanding that advance budgetary allocation be made this year and a survey be conducted for making the long-standing demand for the Thalassery-Mysore railway line passing through Iritty and Virajpeta a reality," action council leaders Kalavoor Johnson and K. Ibrahim Kutty said in a statement here on Sunday. The promise given by the Minister that advance allocation will be made in the budget had not been kept, they said, adding that the Railway Budget 2006 had earmarked an allocation for holding the survey alone.
Stating that the allocation for the survey alone was not an answer to the demand for the railway line, the action council said that the dharna would be staged in New Delhi to protest against the failure on the part of the Railway Minister to keep his promise and to raise the demand that the advance of the cost required for developing the railway line be earmarked in the budget this year itself. Action council chairperson Annie D. Raja, who is also a member of the National Integration Council, would head the dharna.
The action council said that the proposed railway line would not be found feasible if the survey was conducted on the basis of the existing norms of the Railways. Three surveys on the proposal had been conducted over the last five decades, the statement said, adding that a political decision was required on the proposal aimed at comprehensive development of the North Malabar. It also said that `bus and truck lobbies' were active to ensure that the proposal did not materialise. The action council said that the 50-year-old dream would be a non-starter unless there was budgetary allocation this year.
The action council said that Mysore MP C.H. Vijay Shankar, Chamarajnagar MP M. Shivanna and Mangalore MP D.P. Sadananda Gowda had offered support for the dharna. They were among the 42 MPs who had signed a memorandum that was submitted to the Railway Minister on February 23 seeking budgetary allocation for the proposal. Mr. Gowda would on March 11 inaugurate in Virajpeta the journey of the action council members to New Delhi. The participants, headed by Mr. Johnson and Mr. Ibrahim Kutty, would on that day embark on a vehicle campaign that would pass through Koottupuzha, Vallithode, Iritty and Mattannur, before reaching Thalassery in the evening to board a train to New Delhi.
The proposed Thalassery-Mysore railway line had been announced 50 years ago by the then Railway Minister Lal Bahadur Sastri. The action council said that it was unfortunate that MPs from the State had met the Railway Minister on March 2 in two separate groups. It said that the survey for the new railway line could be completed in three months.
No follow-up actions had been taken earlier over the previous three surveys on the ground that the proposal was not economically feasible, it said. But experts, including Delhi Metro Rail Corporation chairman E. Sreedharan, expressed confidence that the railway line could be made feasible, the action council leaders added.
